Health equalities event: Can we have equal cancer care?

1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime. That’s a sobering statistic, but perhaps more shocking is the wide gap that exists in diagnosis and treatment for people depending on their social and economic status. Combine this with long waiting times and difficulty navigating complex services, and we have to ask how it can be possible to create equality in cancer care.

Professor Patricia Price, Consultant Clinical Oncologist, joins us on 26 September to tackle this question head-on. She will be taking a frank look at current cancer targets and steps being taken to cut down waiting lists, while also sharing practical information about how to navigate services and steps you can take to look after your own health. As always, there will be plenty of time for questions and the opportunity for people to contribute their own thoughts to this vital discussion.
