Walk in Centre Services
Review by Monitor of the provision of walk-in centre services in England - Monitor’s main duty is to protect and promote the interests of patients. They do this by promoting the provision of health care services which is effective, efficient and economic, and maintains or improves the quality of services.
Monitor has launched a review to understand why NHS walk-in centres are closing and if this is in the best interests of patients. The review will examine to what extent the closure of walk-in centres has limited people’s ability to choose where and when they access routine or urgent primary health care services without appointment.
Monitor welcome submissions from patients, past and present providers of walk-in centres, GPs, commissioners and other stakeholders about the impact of walk-in centre closures by email: firstname.lastname@example.org by 5:00 pm, 28th June 2013.
