CNWL has a new Carers Charter

During Carers’ Week 2024, the Central and North West London NHS Trust launched their first Carers’ Charter for unpaid carers. We have shared more information below.

The Central and North West London NHS Trust (CNWL) worked with unpaid carers and patients to develop a new charter that outlines how the Trust will recognise, involve and support carers in their caring responsibilities. You can download the CNWL Carers Charter here.

The six crucial principles of the charter that CNWL vows to meet are:

  • Recognising and valuing carers
  • Highlighting support in the community
  • Supporting carers’ wellbeing
  • Working together with carers
  • Supporting young carers
  • Doing our best to get it right

The charter is important as it pledges to involvecarers and hold CNWL accountable, encouraging carers to raise their concerns.

We will be keen to see how the Charter is reflecting when we are carrying out our research for our Adult Social care project.

How can I share my feedback?

If you’re a carer and you feel you are not being listened to, or would like to share feedback on your experience, please contact our Patient Feedback and Complaints Service on feedback.cnwl@nhs.net or 0300 013 4799.

Where can I get more information?

If you have any questions about the Charter or how carers get involved at CNWL, please contact involvement.cnwl@nhs.net

CNWL have also developed an Information Pack for Carers, Friends and Relatives which has been co-produced with carers, patients and staff, with the aim of providing people with guidance for both the practical and emotional sides of caring.
